Places and Spaces

Obviously we move a lot but what helps me get through the tons of work (that I usually do all by myself) is knowing I get to find a way to redecorate my new space. My "space" is important to me. I like light and I LOVE matching and color coordinating. There's only so much you can do on a super tight budget but a good majority of my stuff is cheap things I've done things to to make it match...and I love it!
(Don't get me wrong...I'll love having a place that isn't an apartment and money to decorate it one day)
But for now I like to document each place we've been to and how we've made it our little home.
(Yes...a lot of the stuff is the same stuff from the start)

We moved to this apartment in April and although I meant to document it then I just didn't. However, I am about to change some things in preparation for Miley coming so I thought I'd show what it looked like beforehand.

KOHEN'S ROOM
I love that he's been able to have a play area in his room.

For any mothers out there who are panicking because the bed (yes..he sleeps in a queen sized bed) is by the window-no worries. There are three locks on it and no strings or cords! This mama knows her son and is prepared. Plus there weren't many other ways to arrange the room.

 MINE AND THE HUSBY'S ROOM
 Ignore the missing mirror.
When we first got married we bought 3 cheap bookshelves. With each move we loose a half of a bookshelf so when we arrived here we only had this half. But combined with our dresser I think it makes it look more put together :)
My favorite part of the room (or tied with my chandelier)
The picture frame that I loved and painted silver to match.
The glass Cinderella carriage Stuart gave me on our 3rd?? dating anniversary before we got married. And the "glass slippers" I made. Add damask and other bling and it makes me happy.

We were having a hard time with clothes (Stuart has more than I do I swear and they are bigger taboot) so we added tention rods in that odd space of our bedroom to hang up more of our junk and a shoe rack in our closet. Tacky? Yes.  But we made it work.

KITCHEN/DINING AREA
Ignore the boxes under the table. It's also my craft area. You can't see the clock, damask, plates and chalkboard plates, and candlestick holder well enough to appreciate that they are cute and I love them!
One of the chalkboard plates I put on "Manners Matter"
Stuart thought it was rude (which I found ironic) but it's so me. I most definitely thing manners matter. What do you think??
My kitchen. Lots more cupboard, pantry, counter space than the last one. So nice.
And my chalkboard frame for writing grocery needs. I finally did it so I'm still excited about it.

KOHEN'S BATHROOM
This place has two bathrooms which is so nice.

THE LIVING ROOM
Changes are coming to this room too :)

 GUEST/OUR BATHROOM

Ignore the empty frames. I'm in the process of changing out the quotes again.

  1. What a fun tour of your place. It looks great! I can tell you spent a lot of time putting nice touches. P.S. I think the tension rod in akward space fro more clothes hanging was brilliant! If it bother your though, you can hang up one more rod and put a curtain over it. I don't think it looks that bad though. No one will be in your room but you two anyway. =)
