As I was writing in my journal about something personal some wise words came to me that surprised me. They surprised me because they were words from a baboon. The one in The Lion King to be exact. Do you remember the scene where the Rafiki whacks Simba with the stick and tells him,
"Yes, the past can hurt.
But the way I see it you can either run from it...or learn from it."
But my favorite part is where Rafiki asks "So what are you going to do?"
We all hear life isn't meant to be easy and often times it just isn't very sympathetic when we are getting knocked down by trials one after the other, or hurt by those who should know better, or even maybe weighed down by what others think of us.
But what are you going to do?
I loved this quote from the January Ensign.
"William James, a pioneering American psychologist and philosopher, wrote, “The greatest revolution of our generation is the discovery that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.”1
I've always admired and been drawn to people that are sincerely positive. (There's a difference)
People that seem to just get it. That manage to see the whole picture more often than not and seem to have that radiance and true kindness and compassion. I've always admired them and the way that they just deal with it and carry on. So thank you to the kind people out there who don't dwell on themselves and are considerate to the needs of others. The world needs more people like you.
When I grow up I want to be just like you! :)

So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."
