Baby Slurpee

Before the next baby comes I need to catch up on documenting Kohen's earlier life since, so far, this is the only "scrapbooking" I've done and I have thousands of pictures. Still trying to figure out the cheapest/best way for me to "scrapbook" them all before I add to my collection.

Kohen was nicknamed baby slurpee when we found out we were pregnant since he was due on 7/11.
Here are his ultrasounds.

9 weeks

13 weeks. I remember looking at this and thinking "it" had my cheekage already.
Notice the hand up by the face like his sister  :)

This picture was measuring the heart (thus why the arms/legs look funny) but I thought it was cute.

17-18 weeks? We found out this appointment we were having a boy!
Look at him showing off his muscles :)

My Kohen, all snuggled up. (17/18 weeks)

Kohen is going to have a little SISTER :)

Here she is! No..we don't have a name yet. I thought we were narrowed down to two but now I'm back up to almost my full list. But I suppose we have a little while.
I was just writing in my journal the night before how it was sort of our last night as a family of 3. Sure, we knew there was a baby coming but for me it just didn't seem real still and wondered how our family dynamic would change once we found out the gender. We didn't have any preferences but because I felt like it was a girl before I even took the pregnancy test, I was worried that everyone would be disappointed if it was a boy.  I seriously looked at way more boy clothes, had a boys name picked out and even what I was going to take him home in.
As it came closer to the appointment I kept having weird dreams and worried about it's health. So that was the first thing I had the Radiologist check when we got in (not much help since the doctor supposedly has to be the one to tell me).   I had just gotten done having the doctor count the number of toes (because it looked like 6 to me...yes...a little paranoid) when he asked if we wanted to find out what the gender was. He announced it so quickly that it caught me off guard. Didn't take long for the excitement to kick in.

In the pictures above where you can see the hand, the radiologist kept joking she was trying to find her hand to suck on.
Below are the 3D ones. I know some don't prefer these but I LOVE them! Especially because with Kohen that was the only kind we had and we lucked out and got them often. In comparing baby girl and Kohen, my personal opinion is that she has more of Stuart's head shape (aka...not as round/ w/ out my cheekage). And we both think she looks a lot skinnier. They say "chubs" don't add on until later but I'll post Kohen's sometime to compare the two.

But for now, here she is all cuddled up.

I was getting anxious as it was but right as we were headed out the door to our appointment we were told the Doctor was running behind and that we would have to wait another hour! I thought that was eternity until she mentioned the words "or schedule you for another day"   Oh heck no!  Haha. Luckily we only had an hour to fill and spent it playing outside with Kohen. Stuart and Kohen came up with a new game too. Stick Kohen on the long board and roll him across the parking lot, catching him JUST before he crashes. Kohen thought it was hilarious. Such a boy. No fear.  (Poor Mom)

We had a little family outing and celebrated with some ice cream right after the appointment.

Stuart and I have made it a tradition to get a new outfit for the baby the day we find out what we are having.  This time we couldn't resist getting two. The one on the right Stuart picked out and even thought of putting leggings under it for extra warmth. I was impressed by his "girl skills" already.  :)    I have to admit, I still found myself looking at all the boy clothes too. I'm used to having to veto the girls section. Oh our poor budget.

Easter Fun 2012

I don't think we told Kohen to fold his arms but here is is trying to hold still for a picture.
I believe jelly beans were used as bribery :)

Since Stuart doesn't wake up until right before church we had to have a quick and easy Easter egg hunt for Kohen. Stuart had to try to keep Kohen in his room for a few minutes while I got everything ready. A task that is not easy when your toddler knows you are trapping him. haha

Kohen enjoying his new toy and yummy candy.

Despite the fact that we were moving a few days later and most everything was packed (besides the kitchen of course), I decided we just couldn't have Easter alone after all. (Stuart's parents were originally going to come).  So we decided to invite some of our friends that didn't have family around to feast with us.
(The Hemmerts,  Laos, and Jeppsons)

And of course Kohen and Ryker had fun being little boys hyped up on sugar :)

OTHER EASTER FUN

We did cheater Easter eggs this year. Kohen got to pick out some stickers to decorate his eggs with. They didn't stick very well (partially because I forgot to dry the eggs of any condensation) and he tried to color on them a bit but overall he was just excited to play with stickers.
We also visited the Easter Bunny the week before and Nanny and Grandpa Rupp sent an Easter pkg but I'll have to post those pictures later. :)

Will's Birthday Party- Jan 2012

Baby # 2

In April we announced the pregnancy of baby # 2.
The baby is due Oct. 3 but because I have to have a C-section I will most likely be induced the week before (in September).
As you can see the ultrasound was taken at my 11 week mark...over 2 months ago! It's killing me because with Kohen we got lucky enough to have an ultrasound almost every time AND they were the 3D/4D ones.
As much as I love staring at this ultrasound of my sweet baby, I do prefer the other kind (and more of them). With Kohen you could see he had my chubby cheeks (I swear) by 9 weeks.

Luckily I have less than a week left before they FINALLY let me have another ultrasound and we get to find out what this little baby is.

Big Brother's Rock

We sure think this big brother will at least.
He has noticed babies for quite a while now and is so cute when he sees them. He usually will "aww" over them, give them a hug, (or if it is on TV or a picture just say "hi") and then possibly try to climb all over their car seat. He loves to give the baby in Mommy's tummy kisses and often tries to share a snack or toy with it as well.
I just love his hair. It was getting pretty long at this point and sadly I cut it right shortly after, but I love those curls.

And who wouldn't love these "CHEESE-Y" smiles :)

Ordinary no, I really don’t think so
Not a love this true
Common destiny
We were meant to be
Me and you

Like a perfect scene from a movie screen
We’re a dream come true
Suited perfectly for eternity
Me and you

Every day, I need you even more
And the night time too
There’s no way
I could ever let you go
Even if I wanted to

Every day I live
I try my best to give
All I have to you
I thank the stars above
That we share this love me and you

Every day, I need you even more
And the night time too
There’s no way
I could ever let you go
Even if I wanted to

Ordinary no, I really don’t think so
Just a precious few
Ever make it last
Get as lucky as
Me and you

3 years ago I married this man. But I knew this man was the one for me long before that.
I fell in love with this man's big heart and his cheesy charm. :)
I knew he was hard working and full of faith but marriage has a way of bringing out what you really are and this man has only proven better in my book.
This man, despite how very hard he works and exhausted he is, still puts God first.
He is obsessed with and loves his son (and future children).
And for some reason this man seems to think I'm pretty great and loves me unconditionally.
He is my biggest supporter, fan and best friend.
I feel so lucky to have married this man.

Happy Anniversary Hun!
