More Birthday Fun!

Birthday Fun

Started out the birthday festivities by opening his bday card from Great Grandpa Luymes

Yep. This is what Mommy looked like a year ago...just even bigger!

Opening my gift from Mommy and Daddy

Playing with my new toys and helping Dad put them together

Opening their birthday package from Gramma and Grampa Rawlins

You can't really tell here, but Kohen's actually rockin' out. He LOVES music and can't resist dancing. It's funny because he has different moves for different music sometimes.

These pictures make me grin because it so reflects his independent,
adventurous, self (even if he is growing up way too fast!)

Taking a little breather from all the fun!

Helping Mommy set his cool Cars tent up. He's quite the helper... didn't you know.

Here he is ...attacking Stuart for invading his space.
He loved being king of his tent.

Kohen's 1st Birthday Party

Although it didn't go as planned (thunderstorm/had to change locations last minute...talking about maybe 10 minutes before it was to start/) we ended up having a lot of fun. We had over 30 people crammed in our little apartment but we were so grateful for all our friends and family that came to celebrate with us.

I forgot to take pictures of the "decorations" and food. But for the record we had cookies (OF COURSE), cupcakes, cake balls, chips & dip, candy, choc dipped rice krispie treats, kool-aid..... and everything was blue and brown. [I'm a color coordinated kind of person :) ]

CAKE TIME
I was really strict about following all the "rules" of babyhood and didn't let Kohen have ice cream/chocolate or any of that yumminess until his birthday. Earlier that day we let him have a taste tester of the cupcakes...wondering if he'd like it since he's kind of picky. When he kept signing for more and more we figured we were going to have a good show later on.
He didn't eat a lot of the cake but luckily he had uncles that finished it off for him later :)

This was my first attempt at making a cute cake...but after making it, decided that fondant would be too hard for Kohen to break open.

"Hmmm...should I wear my shirt or strip down?"

He's never seen anyone lick the bottom of a candle before (let alone a candle in the first place) but he was a pro. He then decided to use the candle and the cookie monster as spoons...that is, until I took them away. Let's face it, we wanted a messy boy, not a polite one.

"Want some?"

There ya go!

Right before he decided to fling it everywhere and we decided he was done.

Quick break to the bathroom to wipe off. He was NOT wanting to miss out on the party.
(Thus the blue frosting on his face through out the rest of the pictures)

Pin the cookie on the cookie monster

Will was so excited that he won some BLUE powerade, blue gum, blue mints, blue pretzel m&m's....you get the picture.

Cousin Edwin helping Kohen. It was so cute because the next day I caught Kohen standing in front of the door spinning in circles and then pretending to play.

Kohen loves babies! It's so funny because he'll squat down (even if they're bigger) like "hey little guy" and rock their car seat or try to climb in to give them hugs.

He of course loved all the cool toys

Some of the aftermath

Birthday boy ended the night with a birthday bath. He got to use some of his new bath toys too.

I think he had a good day. What do you think?
