How fast...too fast..time flies

My mom sent me some pictures that she had of Kohen's first few weeks and I can't believe how fast time has flown by. I feel like I was just about to give birth to Kohen and now in a matter of days we will be welcoming another sweet addition to our family. Seem so surreal.

Well here is Kohen's story since I don't think I ever did really document it??

Due Date: 7/11 (nickname "slurpee" while in womb)
10 days over due
Induced on 7-20 (Stuart's bday) at 6 am
By 4pm was at a 9 but was at my limit and got the epidural. (If you've been induced you know how strong and relentless those "contractions" are. They have no mercy and NO breaks in between)
I don't know if the epidural is what slowed my progress or if it was just my body but I am so glad I didn't keep trying to tough it out because I didn't reach a 10 and start pushing until almost midnight. The doctor kept nicely trying to tell me that it was looking like a C-section was going to be the route we needed to go since Kohen was too big but since I had my epidural I was in lala land (other than throwing up some) and insisted I keep pushing.
Two hours later we prepped for the C-section and Kohen was born sometime around 2/2:30.
(I need to look up the exact time...bad mom for not remembering this)
I was exhausted and kept falling asleep so aside from the brief 1 minute "hello" to my new son (not even getting to hold him) I didn't get to see him until a few hours later. Even then I barely remember anything.   :(

Here I am, looking lovely. This is either right after I threw up or before getting ready to prep for the C-section.
My cheer team anxiously waiting .... all night...for their grandbaby!
Krista fell asleep waiting.
 9 lbs 21 inches
Everyone said he was so alert and just held onto Stuart for comfort as they poked and prodded him. It makes me so sad I couldn't be there to protect and comfort my baby boy but was SO glad Stuart was able to.
 LOVE this!!!!!

 Proud Daddy

Finally home! Notice how much weight he lost? Poor guy!!!

Krista took this picture and I am so in love with it!

He wasn't much of a snuggler. After being crammed in my tummy he liked to be spread out.
(4 days old)
 So alert!

My dad and brothers came up for a couple days to meet Kohen and for the baby blessing.

Baby blessing.
Lesson learned:Wait longer than 10 days before traveling/going to church after a C-section.
The only real picture we got of him in his blessing outfit.
It was SUCH a cute full on tux.

Kohen and the "little" one

Yep. There it is. Hard to miss. This pregnancy has been different from Kohen's in a lot of ways but apparently my body makes big babies and isn't afraid to show it. The doctor thinks she could be as big as Kohen was (9lbs 21in) even though she won't be ten days late.
We went to take a belly pic to send to my parents but Kohen wanted to join in on the fun.
He makes the picture much cuter anyways.

And here is my little poser showing off his muscles, teeth and how to be reverent.
(He was partially trying to distract us from doing his hair..thus the messy muff)

Getting Ready for Miley

We have been busy preparing for our new addition and Kohen is no exception.
He loves talking about his little sister and jumped at the chance to "help" us put the crib and other  things together.

Helping Daddy put the crib together and playing with all the stuffed animals that have moved to his bed now.

Testing out the crib to make sure it is safe enough....you know, in case she comes out jumping and able to climb around and all.  :)

Stuart was outside working on some projects and so Kohen grabbed his hammer, put on his work glasses, and headed outside to help Daddy.

Lewis & Libby's Wedding

Yesterday Stuart's cousin Lewis and his fiance got married.
Everything was beautiful. The ceremony, the bride, the scenery and the weather.
It was a perfect day to spend outside visiting with friends and family.
Kohen, although always busy, did great. No melt downs mid ceremony-success! :)

Kohen 7 week Portraits

I've been looking at a lot of Kohen's pictures wondering what our little girl will look like.
I forget what a chub Kohen was. Here are some of his portraits when he was only 7 weeks old.
I believe he was around 15-18lbs and our arms were killing us holding him up and out for the poses.

"Haw Haw"

Earlier this week we went to Glenda's (a lady Stuart works with) and got to see lots of fun animals.
She had a funny goose, chickens, a bird, a dog, cats, cows, and horses.
Kohen even got to ride one of the miniature horses named Ben. Both Stuart and I didn't know how he'd react to getting close to one even though he talked about it for days when we told him he was going to get to see a horse. However, not only was he not afraid, he rode Ben like a champ as we walked around the whole neighborhood. He was so cute!
He was fairly quiet though too (for him) and so we knew he was soaking it up and having fun.
But let me tell you, not a couple hours go by ever since then with out him still talking about all the animals and the horse he got to ride and says "Haw Haw" (Yee Haw) all the time. I think we know what he is going to be for Halloween :)

He LOVED feeding the horses "snacks" and was apparently surprised that  they had teeth because he is always telling us how he fed them and never leaves out the fact that they had teeth.

On the way home he conked out from all the excitement that morning. Thanks Glenda for wearing him out :)

Oh Bananas!

Here is a picture to represent the two minute period of time I didn't have my eye on Kohen and he decided to very randomly move my trash can, then move my kitchen chair over to the counter where the trash can was, grab the bunch of bananas and smush them into the carpet (actually he likes to snap them in half to open them because that's what Stuart does and I think he just got a little carried away). AND he decided to pee his pants taboot when he has been so good about potty training. Then proceed to throw a fit when he saw that I saw what he did because he hasn't been getting enough sleep....etc.

In Sunday School today we got on the topic briefly about how we tend to only blog the good stuff. I am totally like that! (Although sometimes I can't help but add in a little negative although I try to resist) But over all I only blog the "good moments" because
1) That's what I want to remember as I look back
2) Lets face it-who is blogging when they are trying to avoid ripping out their hair?! Haha
We all have those moments...many of them...where you are just surviving the moment.
But when/if I get "me" time, I blog. Partly because I feel like I constantly need to be doing something somewhat productive but also because it helps me vent in a way and remember the good parts of the day/week.

I am completely honest when I say I am obsessed with Kohen (if you couldn't tell) but let me assure you, I definitely have those, "Oh Bananas" moments.  :)
