Bedtime Birdy

So as I am laying Kohen down in his crib (celebrating inside that he actually didn't FIGHT me to the death about going to sleep this time) I hear a funny sounding bird. I look down to see a smile on Kohen's face. He hears it too. The sound stops and his eyes close. But just as I think it's safe to leave the silly little bird makes his noise again and this time Kohen not only gets another tired smirk but looks up at me like "That's a funny noise you're making there Mom." Now that little bird is just whaling and my son decides it's hilarious. We go to the window and check out the bird. Within minutes the bird gets bored, Kohen gets bored and we are back to bed!

Being a 7 month old

Being a 7 month old involves....

Bonking your head on the door (poor guy)
Going on walks with Mommy

Waving bye bye to my play date buddies

Sporting my cool hair and being a little ham

Brushing my teeth

Staying warm

Going on the slide for the first time
(I liked it!)

Looking cute falling asleep

And of course getting into things

Projects I've Done Lately

So aside from all the unpacking, playing with Kohen, and the non stop cleaning, cooking,..... I have been trying to sneak in a few crafty things here and there.

These shoes had been chewed up by a puppy a while back and after watching PS I Love You (a movie) I decided I was going to attempt at fixing them up. They still need a cute gem or button on the end though.

Waa laa! They aren't professional and who knows how long they'll hold up (I was in a rush) but hey, they are better then being in the trash.
The wall collage was also a quickie so it needs some fixing but the black and white damask "theme" (still in progress) will help explain the item below.

What can I say. I LOVE black, white, damask and crystal. (My room is even more so that way)

Here's Kohen sporting the onesie I made for him.
It doesn't look like it here but it's a tie.

This I did a while ago and it's a little beat up after the move but I used some of the extra fabric I had from when I did Kohen's room. When I do finally add pictures of our apartment you'll see how it ties together the room nicely :)

That's it for now :)

Wednesday my brother Tyler left to the MTC where he'll be for 6 weeks before serving in Tuxtla Gutierezz Mexico. I was just thinking about him so this post is dedicated to him :)
He will be an awesome missionary. He's funny, has an easy going personality, determination (this kid went two years with out any sugar just because AND was a work out aholic),
and of course has a strong testimony of the gospel. We love and miss you T!

I'VE FALLEN ASLEEP DRAMATICALLY

LEARNED TO CRAWL

FALLEN ASLEEP IN DADDY'S ARMS
Funny story: We were watching a movie on the bed while Kohen was playing and climbing around us. Well apparently he was tired because he climbed over to Stuart, snuggled up in his arms just like this, and fell asleep. Remote in hand the whole time. Of course Stuart was in heaven.
BEEN A SILLY BOY
Another funny story: Stuart was rocking Kohen to bed the other night when Kohen burped, looked up at Stuart and smiled, and literally went "aaahh." I thought it was funny but it must be a boy thing because Stuart thought it was HILARIOUS.

Since we have been desperately trying to save some money up we decided to once again hold off on a gift for each other and do small things instead to show our love for Valentines Day.

We had made some cookies for our a family in our ward but I decided to surprise Stuart with some extras when he got home from work.

Valentines morning I woke up to this :)
What really meant a lot was the fact that Stuart works 12 hour shifts at night on the weekends, comes home early (5:30ish) on Monday mornings and gets maybe a couple hours of sleep before heading to school for another 7 hours. (Not to mention doesn't get much sleep on weekends to begin with) So the fact that he took some of his precious time to make this for me was so incredibly nice of him.

Because he works so hard I like to make his "lunches" for him and since I knew he had a long couple days ahead of him I packed a special treat in his lunch Sunday.
(Chocolate dipped strawberries and chocolate dipped banana with coconut)
And then there's just Kohen.....sweet as can be
The BEST "gift" of all

I'm so grateful for the loves of my life and all that they do for me. It's the small (silly) little things we all do for each other that really matter the most and make your day.

I LOVE you Stuart and Kohen!!!

Dance

I finally got to watch Step Up 3 tonight. As corny or lame as some may think the movie is I just care about the DANCING! I've always had a passion for dancing and wanted to be "a famous singer and dancer" when I grew up. I took dance a little here and there when I was younger but have been really REALLY wanting to get back into it. Of course life happens. There's always work, no money, and a billion other excuses. But (like my goal last year that didn't happen) I'm once again going to make it my goal to take a dance class this summer and have some fun!
