Grandpa Rupp

(Stuart's Grandma didn't want her picture taken because she said her hair wasn't done. Stuart's Grandpa said her hair looked fine and to go ahead and take a picture. And, well, Kohen was a baby....we were lucky to get him to look at the camera. I'd say this was a success!) (April 2011)

A couple weeks ago Stuart's grandfather who lived in Kamiah passed away. The pictures below are from after the funeral when Kohen got to hang out with his cousin Tane.
But I'd like to share a couple neat facts about Stuart's Grandpa. Most of the stories told at the funeral were ones I had heard before. When I lived in Kamiah, Stuart and I would go visit his grandparents and listen to Grandpa's stories. They were always interesting and he had a great memory and could recall every detail. (Now let's see how much I can remember).
Stuart's Uncle? started the Idaho candy company that is in Boise. When Stuart and I lived there we "toured" it. Candy like the Idaho Spud and other famous candy originated from there. Cool huh? http://www.idahospud.com/
When Stuart's Grandpa moved to Kamiah back in the 70's, he set up fundraisers and worked really hard to get the church building that is in Kamiah.

My Brown Eyed Boy

I cannot begin to describe how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this little boy of mine.
He's perfect-he really is!

Creative Time

Lately we've been having creative time as part of our daily routine.
It started when he painted our 1st annual Christmas ornaments.
"Can I eat it Mom?"
(I think he thought we were decorating Halloween cookies/gingerbread houses again)

Play dough is of course another favorite. He gets to pick which color he wants to play with that day. Mommy had a little fun the first time too :)

Notice there's nothing on the paper? When I bought the markers I saw they said that they don't color on walls and carpet and thought "Perfect!" BUT read what the marker says below.

They color only on wonder paper. So crayons it was. Haha

Snow Day

We had a snow day here in Lewiston back in the middle of January. It snows some here but not usually enough to stick for too long. This year Stuart's first couple days of school even got cancelled because it was more than what they are used to here. It would have been so much fun to go sledding and take advantage of more time with Daddy but Kohen was just getting over being really sick and we were on our way to the doctors because he had a horrible ear infection. Poor guy.

Gone Fishing w/ Daddy

Stuart can't wait to be able to take Kohen fishing.
But since it's a little cold right now a dollar store cheap set will have to do.

The purpose of the gate

The purpose of this gate was to keep him out. It worked until he was a little over a year old and learned how to pop it open from the other side or climb over it all together. Now that he's taller he prefers to just reach over and open it. So we raised it.
The purpose of the gate now is to help provide entertainment and a challenge for Kohen to figure out how to beat Mommy again. This is what he immediately started doing right after we raised it. Look at him trying to maneuver. Guess Mommy stumped ya on this one buddy..for now.

Watch out Justin Beiber

At Christmas time Kohen hung out with Auntie Krista a lot playing with her disco ball and karaoke machine. Ever since we've been back he's found random things around the house (usually with that metal mesh like a microphone) to smush his face against and say "hello" or other mumbles (hair dryer, the computer speakers...)
Kids are so smart!


Apparently he's seen too many Progresso Soup commercials too because today I caught him talking into a can. :)
